The Ministry of the Interior exists to ensure the maintenance of internal security for all persons in the Gambia, in order to promote peaceful development.
We do this by reviewing, supervising and evaluating policies relating to the protection of life and property , preventing and mitigating disasters; immigration control; preventing and detecting crimes; ensuring safe custody and facilitating the reformation and rehabilitation of offenders and by reaching out to the general public by employing and establishing good public relation with them.
We believe in integrity, transparency and efficiency by employing and retaining well trained and discipline personnel.

About The Gambia

The Gambia (West Africa) is a small country with an area of 4,000 square miles or 10,295 sq. km and has its capital at Banjul.

It is surrounded on all its borders by Senegal except on the Atlantic Ocean coast.

The nation is located at the most western edge of the continent.

It is the smallest country on main land Africa.

At one time or another in history it was a part of the great Empires of West Africa.
